What time is check-in and check-out?

What is your cancellation policy?
We have small children, what do you provide at Cedar Solace for families?
The cabin includes a pack-n-play and high chair for guest use during your stay. We also have some toys and games stocked for little ones to enjoy. The home features durable cement floors with in-floor heating, perfect for playing and building indoors. Outside, we have a few acres of forest for kids to explore around the cabin.
Is there parking available at Cedar Solace?
Yes, there is space for up to 4 vehicles to park in the driveway.
Is the driveway difficult to manage in the winter?
Sometimes, but not usually—here’s what to expect...
Our home sits on a hill overlooking Lake Superior, which is what gives you those stunning, year-round views. The North Shore does receive frequent snowfall during the winter and early spring, and conditions can vary from day to day.
Our HOA regularly maintains the driveway and road, keeping them plowed and accessible. That said, because of the elevation and occasional heavy snow, we strongly recommend an all-wheel-drive vehicle during the winter months for the most comfortable and stress-free arrival.
What items are stocked in your kitchen?
Guests consistently tell us how well-equipped our kitchen is for preparing most meals. The spacious layout features a large island ideal for meal prep, along with a generous dining table perfect for gathering and enjoying home-cooked meals. We’ve thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with all the essentials to make cooking easy and enjoyable for your group during your stay at Cedar Solace.
What bathroom toiletries are provided?
We provide organic, paraben-free toiletries for our guests, including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Each bathroom is also stocked with hand soap, plush bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths.
For added convenience, we include darker towels specifically for makeup removal, and every bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer.
Do you have laundry facilities for guests to use?
Yes! The cabin includes a new washer and dryer located just off the kitchen for guest use. Laundry detergent is provided for your convenience.
Are there any stairs required to access the property?
No stairs are required to enter the property. The home is built on a slab foundation with consistent flooring throughout, making it accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. The exterior patio also features concrete surfaces, providing an easy way to enjoy the outdoors.
Do you have a fire pit and firewood available for guests to use?
We have two fire pit options. Near the sauna and upper patio area, we offer a portable solo stove. We also have a larger fire pit area in the lower yard, complete with chairs. For firewood, we recommend that guests purchase their own from Isak Hansen's Hardware Store just 1/4 mile down the road.
Are there grills available to use for outdoor cooking?
Yes, we have both an electric grill and a charcoal grill (with charcoal and lighter fluid) available for you to use during your stay at Cedar Solace. Get your BBQ on!
Do you have high-speed Wi-Fi available for guests at Cedar Solace?
Yes! Cedar Solace offers high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the cabin, making it easy to stream, work remotely, or stay connected during your stay.
What is cell service like at the cabin?
Cell service in the North Shore area can be spotty and varies by carrier. Some guests experience strong service, while others may have limited or intermittent coverage at the cabin. For this reason, we recommend relying on the high-speed Wi-Fi available throughout Cedar Solace for calls, messaging, and internet access.
